| SLS site transition |
2007-03-02 14:06 |
We are going to offcially start the migration to the new SLS system starting today. The latest version of SLS provides improved functionality over this production version and will enable the league to offer more stats and information to the league. We have been testing the site for a couple monthes and so far it works fine.
We are asking all drivers to create accounts at the new site which is currently hosted at http://sls.tpgracing.net
When Season 4 ends at the beginning of June, we will close this current site and maintain it as an archive. So your stats will always be here. However, for current news you will want to visit the new site at the web address listed above. |

| rFactor Endurance Test on Sunday, February 11th @ 2pm EST |
2007-02-07 03:54 |
We are doing our first big rFactor test this coming Sunday. This will be a 3 hour race designed to test the driver switching capability of rFactor in v1.250. So far the driver switching and the new version of rFactor are amazing. It would take too long to list the coolness of this version compared to the gheyness of 1.150, but suffice it to say we plan on incorporating two rFactor series for Season 5 - an open wheel sprint series and a GT car type endurance series.
If you would like to participate in the test this Sunday (whether or not you are alone or with a team) there is still time, just visit the forums here for more information. |

| Season 4 is under way! (and other important news) |
2007-01-30 19:39 |
TPG Racing Season 4 is now underway and we are halfway through Round 1.
There is a lot going on this season at TPG Racing. First off, we have implemented an extended season schedule where each round of racing covers a two week period of time. This means that races for each series are now every other week, with half the races happening in the first week and the other half the second week of each round. This allows us to offer a reduced number of races each week. So far it is going very well and people seem to be happy with this format.
We are also using the European GT1 Championship series as a test bed for a weight penalty system developed by Ghost. Through this system, we are able to assign penalty weight to drivers each week and adjust it up or down for future races depending on how drivers finish in an event. We are accomplishing this through a small car file update that drivers install each week for that series. As of this writing, the first race has been completed and Ghost is currently preparing the weight penalty list and file package for Round 2.
People may not be aware of it, but rFactor has released version 1.250 and its available for download to update the current 1.150 version. Many new improvements, to many to talk about, but notable is the greatly improve feel of the game and trouble free driver switching. TPG Racing is currently testing rFactor every other Sunday for inclusion in Season 5. We are so upbeat about this new version (for now at least) that we have a 3 hour endurance test race planned for February 11th that will make use of the improved driver switching capability.
Finally, we are in the process of testing the 1.1 version of SLS to replace the version we are currently using. There are some nice new features with this version (as well as bug fixes), which include the ability to award pole positions to the fastest car in each class. We will keep you updated as testing progresses with the new system.
